What is Teastra Estimator?
Teastra Estimator prepares a take-off and a client pack preview for you to check before anything goes to a client. It reads the sheet, measures each run, puts each one on the right service, and leaves the take-off for you to review. Pipe and duct insulation take-off; cladding is listed as an exclusion or priced by your rate card.
Who is it for?
Built for mechanical and thermal insulation and cladding contractors who need to price work from site, not only from a desk. Built in Ireland for Irish and UK contractors in mechanical and thermal insulation and cladding. A client sends drawings. Upload them into the Estimator from your phone or your desk.
How does a job go from drawings to a measured take-off?
Upload the drawings, then run the take-off. The Estimator reads them and prepares the measured take-off, the materials, the labour and the pricing to your rate card. The measured take-off is laid over the drawings, so you can see what was measured. You check it and approve it. The figures stay yours.
How can I see it working?
Open a worked take-off now, or book a call and bring a drawing. The screen an estimator uses, on this site. No account. Nothing to install. Bring a drawing of your own. We will go through it on a call with the person who built it.
What does it cost?
Your first five drawings are free. Every new company gets five drawings processed at no charge, once. After that you buy credits up front, and one credit is one PDF file. Credits last 24 months from the day you buy them. What a credit costs depends on how many you take.
Does a person review it before a client sees it?
You upload the drawings, review the take-off yourself, and only then send anything to a client. Have somebody competent check the figures against the drawings before you price anything. Do not present a result as checked by us — nobody here has looked at it.
Who operates it?
Run by Alumitherm Assist Ltd, CRO 774826. Your contract is with Alumitherm Assist Ltd, an Irish company, CRO number 774826. The Estimator is a separate product with its own sign-in. It is not part of a teastra.com subscription and is not included with one.
How does it compare with a manual or outsourced take-off?
The Estimator measures what is printed on the drawing. You check it and approve each row. Nobody at Teastra checks it first. The figures you have checked download as CSV or Excel. What a credit costs depends on how many you take. A manual take-off is your own estimator’s time.
What happens when it cannot read something?
Where a size or a run is unclear, the row is held for you to check rather than guessed. The measured take-off is laid over the drawing, so you can see what was measured. It works from PDF drawings, and reads them most fully when they were exported from CAD rather than scanned.
How is my data protected?
Row-level security is switched on for every table in our live database. Your data is encrypted where it is stored, with AES-256. Your account, projects, drawings and results are stored in Ireland, in the European Union. Teastra Estimator does not hold a SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 certification.
