Does it handle DW144 duct sizes?
Yes, as they are printed. Teastra Estimator reads rectangular duct sizes as width by height in millimetres, and round sizes as a diameter, the way DW144 sizes are written on drawings. It keeps each size exactly as drawn and works out the square metres from it.
What it does today
- A rectangular duct’s girth is twice its width plus its height, so 400x300 is 1.4 square metres for every metre of duct.
- A round duct’s girth is pi times its diameter.
- 800x350 and 350x800 are the same duct, so they share one line.
- A drawn size is not rounded to the nearest standard size, because the printed size is what you price.
- Areas are worked on the bare duct, before insulation is added.
- It reads the duct sizes printed on the drawing. It does not check the ductwork itself against the DW144 specification.
